01The story

SINCE 1880

For more than a century, these corridors have watched Lahore change around them.

Victorian, Colonial and Art Deco influences live side by side here — in Burmese teak panelling, in arched verandahs, in ballrooms that have hosted a young nation’s defining figures. This is not a hotel that imitates history. It is one that kept it.

1880

The doors open

Faletti's begins operating on Egerton Road, in the last decades of the nineteenth century.

1929

The Quaid stays

Muhammad Ali Jinnah resides at the hotel — Suite No. 18 — while arguing the Ilm-ud-Din appeal before the Lahore High Court.

1955

Hollywood arrives

Ava Gardner makes Room 55 her home for nearly three months during the Lahore shoot of Bhowani Junction.

1967

Brando visits

Marlon Brando stays at Faletti's during his UNICEF visit to Pakistan, holding a press conference in his suite.

1991

A resident departs

Justice A. R. Cornelius, who had made the hotel his home for over forty years, passes away in Suite No. 2.

2013

A new chapter

After restoration, Faletti's reopens under new management — its colonial interiors and teak-panelled ballroom preserved.

The Quaid-e-Azam Suite

In July 1929, Muhammad Ali Jinnah took Suite No. 18 while in Lahore to argue the Ilm-ud-Din appeal before the High Court. The suite is preserved in his memory — a quiet room with a very loud history.

When he came to Lahore, he used to stay in Suite No. 18 of Faletti’s Hotel.
